We accept payment in advance and after the session via bank transfer. If several sessions are outstanding we will ask that your account be paid up-to-date before any future sessions are confirmed.
If you are late for your session, we will be available to see you from your arrival until our agreed session ending time. The full session rate will be due regardless of the length of the session.
Sessions are currently available on Zoom, Facetime and telephone. We recommend fidning a quiet, private space for our online/telephone meetings.
Working online brings with it a small risk of interception or compromised confidentiality. To counter this, we use Zoom’s password and waiting room features.
We require 48 hours notice for the cancellation of sessions. Sessions cancelled within fewer than 48 hours are subject to the full fee. If we need to rearrange a session for any reason, we will aim to give you as much notice as possible and offer you a suitable alternative session time.
Everything you say is confidential with some exceptions. Your therapist will discuss limits to confidentiality during your first session. As part of our ethical responsibilities stipulated by the British Psychological Society, we undertake regular, confidential supervision of all our therapeutic work with a qualified and experienced supervisor. Your identity is protected in this work.
We use telephone, and email primarily for scheduling and other practical issues in the work.
If we live locally, then there is a possibility that we could bump into each other outside of the therapy room. If this happens, to protect your confidentiality, we will follow your lead, allowing you to decide whether to acknowledge me before we say ‘Hello’.
We do not personally ‘friend’ or ‘follow’ clients on any social media. If you have any questions or concerns relating to social media boundaries, we welcome a discussion about this.
